Well it was my birthday the other day and my wife decided to buy me some cheap discount tyres from the local garage. I was extremely pleased as the car I have was in desperate need of a new set of tyres.

I am just glad she got the kind I had my eye on all along. They are a set of Goodyear Tyres, thankfully they weren't Dunlop as I had an accident with that brand around 20 years ago and I treat them as bad luck now.

The one bad thing about my wife buying me discount tyres for my car is that she will no doubt be expecting an equally good (or dare I say "better) present for her birthday next month. I am thinking I might get her a ticket to see her favourite musical.

Global macro investors have been the best performing hedge fund style since at least 1994 according to Tremont Advisors and Credit Suisse.  This is becasue global macro traders are the ultimate capitalist.

George Soros is a great example.  Not only has he generated returns of 32% a year since the late sixties but he has also been very opportunistic.  While writing books and giving speeches about the failures that he has seem in government and society regarding debt and housing he went out and shorted housing and made a few billion dollars in 2008.

Like any good global macro trader Soros just took the situation for what it was and while he warned of what would happen, he figured he might as well make money off it as well.  The opportunity arose and he took it.

Another great example of a macro trader that cares about society, and yet is willing to profit from it is Christian Sitha-Jothy who while trading at Goldman Sachs in 2001 bought Euro-Dollars when he saw the second plane hit on TV.  He realized that he was not able to save anyone,  so instead he profited from it.  As he said in later interview he would give up all the money he had ever made if it would stop it but thats not how the word works, so instead he made money.

That in essence is what global macro trading is all about.  You look at the game, look at how it should be played, look at what the rules are, and then play accordingly.  All the while accepting the fact that there is only so much you can do to fix it.  So why are global macro investors the best investors in ther world?  They see things as they are and trade accordingly.

In the end you may have to decide whether to go for a SIM free pink mobile phone but pay more or accept the fact that your pink mobile may well need to be tied to a particular network.

Although you are excited by the thought of purchasing an HD projector in order to create the home cinema you always wanted.  However before you rush out and by a brand new projector there are a few things you need to know.  Not all HD projectors are the same.

Firstly, don’t fall into the trap of thinking that an old office projector will do.  It won’t.  Apart from the fact that it will be noisy as hell, the resolution which may be acceptable for your average office presentation it simply won’t be up to the job of projecting an HD input satisfactorily.

Secondly, you really don’t need to go for the very top end projector to get a superb quality machine.  There are some seriously expensive HD projectors out there, but it is extremely unlikely that spending serious money on one will significantly enhance your viewing experience over an HD projector that costs significantly less.

Be sensible and you will not go wrong.

There are a couple of different mentalities when it comes to dividend returns in the stock market. Some like dividends because they are a return of cash you can plan on, especially good if you are retired or some other form of fixed income. However, if you need fixed returns why not just buy bonds?

Reason 1 – Currently dividend investing has a better tax advantage than bond investing. Dividends are taxed at 15% while bond returns are taxed at your normal marginal rate.

Reason 2 – If you can find dividend yields similar to bond yields than you get the same passive return with the opportunity for capital gains.

Reason 3 – You have the opportunity for a company to raise its dividend while you own it. Then you will get a higher rate of return and an almost guaranteed capital gain at the same time! No bond issuer will ever do this for you.

The only downside is the shareholders get stiffed before the bond holders if things turn bad for the company. However, part of you due diligence needs to be weeding out the bad companies before you start, especially if you just started to learn stocks.

The internet really had a bad reputation as it started to grow in the late 90'2s and early 2000's.  It definitely didn't seem like a place for a Christian to start a business.  Most everything that was talked about was the scams and pornography.  Happily, this is changing quickly.

The internet is turning out to be a main stream marketing vehicle that has pushed a lot of the bad player out.  Don't get me wrong you can still find bad sites on the web but they aren't near as large a percentage of the total web pages that they used to be.  Most of the internet is now safe for family viewing.

As the web cleans up its act more and more Christians will be visiting and using the awesome power of the web.  This makes the possibilities for Christian business opportunities that much greater.  There are now several Christian based websites selling anything you can think of.

I've got to admit, I'm kind of a compulsive buyer when it comes to jewelry, but that still doesn't stop me from making sure I only buy quality merchandise. I was in the market the other day looking for a locket so that I could store a picture of me and my friends at the beach. The problem is that there's just so many out there, how do you choose? Of course I was going for a gold locket - you've got to go with gold when it comes to jewelry you really care about - but nothing was standing out. Until I came across the white gold section. They cost a bit more, but it's worth it for a real quality design. Some even had gold interlaid into them, or gemstones! With all of the choices and the elegance of that white gold finish, I knew it had to be a white gold locket for me. I'd recommend them to anyone who truly cares about keeping their memories safe.

Yes, absolutely ! It doesn't matter whether it is called wulong tea or oo long tea, it means the same type of  tea. The reason for the different spellings is due to the two common systems used to Romanize/ Anglasize the Mandarin language, which does not consist solely of Chinese characters but also of  letters. One system is called the Pinyin , the other is called the system of Wades Giles. When translating the first character in the Mandarin meaning for this tea type using the Wade Giles style, we get the pronunciation “Oo”…and when using the Pinyin system, we get the pronunciation “Wu”. Put them together with the other characters, and you get either “oo-long-cha”, or “wu-long-cha”. (Oolong tea, or Wu long tea.) This tea is also known as “rock  tea”, and is also referred to as “brown tea”.

Just to confuse matters the teas are also referred to as Wu-Long and Wu Long as well as several other names. If you are uncertain please ask from your vendor.

What is the worst part about building residual income? In case you didn't know, this type of income could give you the option to do what you really love and not have to worry about paying your bills. It's the best way to enable you to actually enjoy and experience life and not have to work for the majority of it.

But there is a down side to residual income, and that is it takes patience. Sure, there are many people who create this type of income seemingly overnight, but I'm speaking realistically here. Can you go on working several hours a day for months at a time without seeing a dime in profit? A job will enslave you until you're too old to enjoy life but at least you see money for your labors every week or two. When it comes to building residual income however, you'll need to have the patience and perseverance to stick it through. Maybe that's why most people are forced to work the rest of their lives.
