I recently had to redo my roof after the old one collapsed following some nasty weather. This time around I decided to pull out all the stops - seeing many of your prized possessions destroyed will motivate you to take all the precautions possible. I had read all about the wonders of metal roofing, and I tell you they knew what they were talking about. The contractor I spoke to recommended steel for my particular home, and I must say I've never been happier. The material is tough and durable and is guaranteed for practically a decade! It's only recently been finished, but I've never felt more secure in my whole life. I brag to my neighbors that my roof is literally as sturdy as steel. It may have cost a bundle, but my galvanized steel roofing will sure be worth it the next time a storm bowls through the area.

If you've every eaten a tomato, freshly picked from the garden you know how good they can be. The tomatoes you get in the store aren't in the same league. They're actually bred to look better than they taste. They have thicker skins to be able to handle the journey to the store. Add to that the fact that they're picked before they're ripe and you have something that's a pale imitation of the tomato you grow yourself. If you'd like to try your hand at growing them it's not as hard as you think. You can grow tomatoes in containers fairly easily. You don't need anything special, just a moderately sunny place, some potting soil, and a 3 gallon container. That's about the size of a large flowerpot, cat litter bucket, or mop bucket.
Make sure your container has a hole in the bottom to let the water drain. You can get tomato plants already started at a Home Center, along with the container and potting soil. Plant your tomato, water it well, then every couple of days afterwards. In a month you'll have your own ripe juicy tomatoes.

I have not eaten a thing all day. I am doing a one day, don't eat, only drink water fast. I don't have a lot of experience with trying to do something like this. It is something I have wanted to try for a long time but just never made any real commitment to do it. A few weeks ago I came across some info on the web about how to fast and it got me a little motivated. Or at least thinking about fasting a little more.
Last week I finally made the commitment to try it and today was the day I penciled in on my calendar. I almost blew it right off the bat by making my usual half a pot of coffee. It was about halfway done brewing when I remembered I was fasting today. Fortunately I have yet to total forget enough that I went and ate something. But I have thought about eating a number of times where it took me a little while to realize/remember - no food today.
Anyway I just treated the day like a big experiment. Just to see if I could do it and what it would be like. So far this moment has been my biggest hunger pangs all day. Even so, I think I can hold out and keep my commitment to fast all day.
