Vespa Scooters

When many people think of a motor scooter, they think of Vespa.  The movie Roman Holiday kicked off the Vespa scooter craze with the scene of Audrey Hepburn racing around Rome on a Vespa.  Produced by the Piaggio company, the word Vespa means "wasp" in Italian. It was reportedly named by the company's owner Enrico Piaggio. Upon hearing the engine he said "It sounds like a wasp". Piaggio originally produced train cars and locomotives but, during World War II the company switched to making airplanes.  After the war Italy's infrastructure (and Piaggio's factories) had been damaged by allied bombing.  Piaggio set out to produce a vehicle that was thrifty on gas, inexpensive, rugged and easy to use, and could travel over damaged roads.  The designers used their experience in producing aircraft during the war to design such a vehicle.  The Vespa, with its rounded engine cover and front cowling is reflective of that aircraft design.  Since then it's been the scooter of choice for Italians and many other people all over the world.

Fat Burning Exercises

Many people want to learn the secret fat burning exercises that will make them skinny in a few simple workouts.  While exercising is very important to health it will not get you into great shape by itself.  You need a specific diet plan along with a workout routine to lose weight.  Once you start eating right you will see the results from the following exercises:

  • Running is a great way to burn extra calories but should not be thought of as a way to lose weight.  Losing weight is accomplished mostly through dieting.
  • Lifting Weights is even more important than running to lose weight.  You need to build muscle all over your body to really lose weight.  You can't just do cardio and never lifts weights to slim down.  Muscle burns fat faster than fat burns fat.  So the more muscle you can put on your body the quicker you will lose weight.

Termite Friendly Conditions Around Your Home

Without realizing it, we sometimes end up with termite friendly conditions around our homes.  While this usually doesn't happen on purpose, homeowners need to be aware that sometimes carelessness can invite termites and other pests.  Here are a couple simple termite prevention tips you can use to keep your home safe.

Prevent Termite From Eating Your HomeDamp areas around your home are the first invitation for termite problems.  This usually happens from a leaky pipe or bad drainage.  Termites love damp areas.  They provide the termites with a source of water and tend cause wood to decay faster, thereby speeding up the termites ability to consume the wood.  So any damp areas around your home should be investigated and resolved.

Another common thing that invites termites is loose wood debris around a home.  That could be a dead tree, old tree stumps, dead logs or old lumber.  Any of these can offer ideal conditions for termites to setup a colony.  These don't even have to be right around your home.  Just having any of those items left around your yard will allow termites to get a foothold near your home.  Then your home is just a short trip away.

By simply maintaining your property and keeping it free of debris you can help protect your home.

Luxury Bedding Beyond Your Budget?

luxury bedding

luxury bedding

If you want some beautiful bedding for your dream bedroom but you can't afford the designer linens you love, don't despair, there is always a solution. Discount luxury bed linen is available if you keep your eyes open.

The best places to look are often the top stores where sales bring the prices of the most luxurious bedding down to something a little more realistic (although still pricey). Also check out designer outlet centers as they often sell ends of ranges, seconds (which often have a flaw you cannot even see)  or goods where only the packaging is damaged. You can often pick up luxury bedding for a fraction of the normal price in this way.

Another trick is to purchase a beautiful designer duvet cover and two top pillowcases while buying non-designer yet quality sheets and pillow cases . This means that you will not pay high prices for the items you do not see.  If you combine this trick with buying in sales and discount or factory outlets centers luxury bedding starts to become more realistic for a small budget.
