Kennel Flooring for the Chewer

So, your dog chews up everything you put inside his kennel?  That can be a real problem, especially if your dog loves to chew. Our Retriever actually chewed the sides off her dog kennel when she was younger, even though she was well exercised when we put her in there and she didn't stay there for long. It was just natural instinct, if anything sticks out at all, she chews on it.

One idea for flooring that works well for the dog that chews linoleum, plastic, and wood is to first lay down a layer of pea gravel and then cover it with plastic decking.  It looks nice, and fits together really well almost like real flooring. It is really easy to clean, and porous enough for any water to seep through easily and soak into the gravel.  And best of all, there are no pieces sticking up that a dog can grab hold of and start to chew.

It is fairly easy to come by this type of plastic decking, and it is relatively cheap to purchase as well.  You can buy it from online stores, or it is usually found in most of the usual hardware stores.
