The best time to buy stocks is when the overall market, the Dow, the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq composite indexes are going higher.
When the overall market is increasing, more stocks are increasing and it's more likely that a stock you picked will go higher. But the exact opposite is true if you buy stocks when the market is trending lower. Because when the market is trending lower, it's been said that 3 out of 4 stocks go down in price. So you see, if you buy when the market is headed down, there's a strong chance yours will too no matter how good of a stock it is.
