Check the tire's condition prior to disposing your used tires. Look at the treads and see if it is worn or not and if the tire is bare. Selling used tires should be honestly done telling them the right condition and by this you will be able to identify the best market for your tires.

Placing an ad in your local newspaper is deemed the easiest way to start selling used tires. Use the description of your tires and let it stay for several days on those ads. You will find out some newspapers that offer lower rates on their small business ads and this is good if you wanted to sell used tires in a longer period of time. Magazines are also a good venue to expose your business as they deliver out their weekly editions to their customers so better choose those magazine that talks about car parts and accessories.

There are local businesses that produce recap and retread tires and they may be wanting to get your old tires if they can still be recapped and be sold out. Good tire quality like pro comp wheels can be sold out easily even if they are used. Just expect to receive lesser amount to the retail price of their products. I’ve probably re-iterated the point of this article hundreds of times to people, and yet I know there are probably only a handful of people who truly utilize the knowledge I have given them. Everyone wants to find a bargain nowadays; we are so used being able to get something for that little bit cheaper elsewhere that we forget that prices aren’t always open for debate. It’s very hard to find good deal on car batteries because chances are the model your car needs will cost the same amount of money, or close to, in all of the retailers you visit.

That being said you can ensure you spend as little as you possibly have to on batteries if you’re prepared to do some work. Don’t try to look for the best price, look for premium batteries which will last the longest, these will be much more economical in the long run. Don’t fret about car battery prices, they range from about $40 to $120, you car will require a model that falls within a particular section of this range and there’s not much that can be done about that.

But how do we ensure that our vehicle’s batteries last as long as they can? Well one way to do this would be to keep all of the terminals and connectors clean and regularly applying petroleum jelly to them to make them resistant to corrosion. Simpler and much quicker solutions also exist, simply remember to turn off your headlights and radio when you leave your car will ensure its battery remains charged for longer. Leaving air conditioning on can really drain a battery too, you want to avoid this at all costs if you can.

Why is oil needed in my engine?

One of the biggest threats to the life of an engine is lack of, or ineffective, lubrication. We can understand this if we consider the purpose of an engine is to convert gas into motion using a process of combustion. Fuel is fed into the engine, ignited and the gasses resulting from the explosion of fuel and air and used to push pistons up and down. The pistons are connected to the cam shaft and the shape of this allows the up/down motion of the piston to be converted to the rotary motion needed to turn wheels.

As you can imagine there is tremendous forces and pressure applied to these moving part, transferring the energy from the engine to the wheels. So much for in fact that if left unaided they would quickly wear each other down even though they are made from tough metals and alloys. Not only would they become damaged but they would also get so hot from the friction that they would weld themselves together. This is where lubrication, in the shape of motor oil, plays its critical role in safe guarding the life of the engine.

Oil forms a cushion for these pistons and cylinder walls, camshaft and bearing etc to glide over. This allows power to be transferee between the components without then actually touching, preventing damage. But for this to work the oil has to be pressurised so that it can 'push back' against the force of the moving parts which would, if where not pressurise, sweep the oil aside, destroying the protective cushion. So if the oil pressure falls the oil cannot do its job effectively.

An electric car polisher can be used to give an extra gleam to your paintwork and then apply polish to the truck bumpers so that they don't look out of place with your shiny truck.
