Choosing a Permanent Filter for Your Small Coffee Maker

All electric small coffee makers require some sort of filter to use when brewing coffee, though not all of them are the same size or shape. In addition to the physical dimensions of the filter, the material it's made from can have a significant effect on the quality and flavor found in the final cup. While many people opt for the paper filter due to availability and cost reasons, there is a better option available - a permanent gold filter made by Swissgold. The advantage that a Swissgold filter has over traditional paper filters is that it doesn't trap the flavor compounds and oils that are extracted during the brewing process, making for a more complex cup of coffee. A secondary advantage is that a permanent filter never needs to be replaced and can be reused over and over again. Consider purchasing a permanent coffee filter the next time your paper filters run out - you won't regret it.

How To Find A Lawyer That Is Competent And Experienced?

Finding a lawyer that is experienced and trustworthy is not as difficult as you expect.  But, you have to do your research, ask important questions and get important details in writing when you finally find an attorney that you wish to hire.  Here are some important points to remember.

What experience does the lawyer have handling legal claims such as yours?  Ask the lawyer about attorney’s fees up front as well as the expenses that you will be required to pay.  How long does the attorney estimate that it will take to resolve the legal matter?

If your lawyer cannot or will not discuss any of these issues with you to your satisfaction, you need to continue your attorney search.  Otherwise, there will likely be a misunderstanding down the road.  That being said, your attorney is not a psychic.  Unexpected events and circumstances will arise.  The measure of a good attorney is how quickly he informs you of such events and how adept he is at responding to them.

Realize, that even with the best intentions, sometimes misunderstandings still arise between lawyers and clients.  If this happens, discuss it with your lawyer as soon as possible.  You will find a lawyer is generally a professional and will do what is reasonably necessary to keep his client happy.

Spend Your Time on Electric Guitar Basics

As a self-taught experienced guitar player, I now look back at my early years playing and I realize how important it would have been to spend more time focusing on the electric guitar basics.

In the rush for learning all about the guitar, beginners often get lost in the myriad of styles and techniques, sometimes neglecting to develop basic skills required to play electric guitar. These basics skills are the foundation for all the complicated techniques to see on concerts and magazines. For example, playing fast is in many aspect developing a good tremolo technique and coordination. And this is learn at first slow.

The same happens with your musical language.  Sure you always want to play a solo here and there, but you need to also learn chords and develop your own sense of rhythm.

Why Buy Waterproof Watches For Kids

Shopping for watches for kids can be a fun endeavor. Compared to when I was young there seem to be so many options, features, styles and themes available now. It's also a good way to see what's popular with the younger crowd.

But if you want the watch to last it's probably best to look at kids waterproof watches. Kids can tend to forget how easily certain things can be damaged so they aren't so good at remembering to take their watch off before running through the sprinkler or washing their hands. Some kids love their timepiece so much they don't even want to take it off to go to sleep. When you see a child this attached to a watch, taking the chance of having water damage break it doesn't go over so well. Instead of taking the risk of having a very sad child on your hands it's best to look for a water resistant watch. Besides kids seem to get a kick out of a watch they can take underwater.

High Fiber Asparagus

Green asparagus for sale in New York City

In season asparagus -high in fiber and folate and low in calories - is perfect in pastas, soups and salads.  I'm a huge fan of asparagus -even my seven year old son likes it and that's no small feat!  After I found out just how healthy it is, I'm even a bigger fan.

Asparagus is the ultimate detox veggie making it a perfect weight loss food.  It's got 3 grams of fiber which cleanses your digestive system, 290 milligrams of potassium per cup and no sodium.  One cup only has 40 calories making it the perfect filling low calorie food.  Asparagus has tons of folate in it which is powerful in reducing inflammation and the risk of heart disease, and in preventing birth defects.  Asparagus is also loaded with vitamin K which helps prevent osteoporosis.

My favorite way to eat asparagus is to slather them in olive oil, sprinkle with salt and roast them on the grill. Add a squeeze of fresh lemon and some red pepper flakes for a tasty treat!  Bon Apetite!

ESL Games – Experience Classroom Bliss

ESL Games are a great way to teach English as a second language to elementary school aged children. As anyone who has studied a second language knows, repetition is vital for picking up new vocabulary. Children however often do not have the discipline nor the attention spans necessary for repetitious study.

ESL Games on the other hand provide children with a tool to practice repetitious material without boredom. So what kinds of games are good for practicing ESL? Well that depends on a couple of factors. One is class size. Some games are difficult to play with small groups and others difficult with large groups. Your classes previous exposure to the vocabulary is also important because different games give students different levels of autonomy.

Let's look at one game we often use in our school: The Hot Potato Game. The Hot Potato game is a classic children's game that I've adapted for ESL classes. The children play in groups of five and each group gets a hot potato card. The game master starts some music and the child holding the card says one of the vocabulary words before passing the hot potato card to someone else. When the game master yells out hot potato, whoever is holding the hot potato card becomes the penalty person. The penalty person has to answer a question or risk having to do a silly dance. The game is very easy to set up and can go on for as long as the teacher likes.

Hopefully I have given you some ideas on how and why to use ESL Games in your classroom. If you'd like to know more, head on over to Naruhodo-eigo.com where you'll find lots of other ESL classroom game ideas as well as things to print.

Nits at School… Again

Do you have any idea how many hours parents waste checking their childrens hair for knits? It's driving me nuts at the moment, the primary school where my kids go issued this newsletter saying that there are nits in the school, and that all parents need to be dilligent about checking their kids.
I'm dilligent, and I've found nits in my kids hair a few times, but I've come to the conclusion that it's really a waste of time. I go through the treatments, keep them home from school until they're all gone, send them back to school again, and lo and behold, they come home with more of the buggers.
The problem is, so many of these kids are sporting long hairstyles these days, and their parents don't seem to care one way or the other. The problem just keeps recurring while those of us who are trying to do the right thing are the ones who keep suffering. Maybe I should just start homeschooling...

Homeschooling software is a good way to monitor your child's progress through his particular homeschool curriculum. Monitoring progress is essential to giving your child a complete and well-rounded education. Homeschool software is an excellent way of monitoring that progress. What you want to do, is to set up goals for your child to attain. Enter those goals into your monitoring software, set a deadline for that goal to be achieved and then monitor your progress with your child as he strives to reach that goal. You may even want to set intermediate goals as stepping stones for your child on his way to reaching a larger goal. Homeschool software can make this process both simple and quick.  As an added plus, when you maintain detailed notes like this, you have a record of your child's complete education that you can present to any college or university as part of their entrance requirements.
