Detecting Ovulation Using Your Ovulation Calendar

If you are trying to have a baby, it would be a good idea to use your ovulation calendar to detect when you are actually ovulating each month. There are several signs you can use which become apparent for many women when they are approaching or actually experiencing ovulation. It is helpful to keep track of your symptoms in a journal, or even in your monthly planner, so that you can have a record of what you are feeling and you can look back on it if you need to later on. The first thing you should do is to go online and look up your fertility calendar on one of the major pregnancy or baby websites. You must enter in your menstrual cycle information and then it will automatically tell you which days out of the month are your most fertile days. From there, you can mark down in your planner that fertile window so that you remember to have intercourse on those days to maximize your chances of getting pregnant. The next step is to then look for the external signs that you are approaching or experiencing ovulation.

One of the easiest signs to spot is an increase in cervical fluid. During a woman’s cycle her vaginal fluid will change from creamy and sticky to clear, stretchy and egg-white in texture. Once it becomes more slippery like this a woman is considered to be extremely fertile. It is such an easy thing to check for every day – all you need to do is to remember to look when you go to the bathroom. The method recommended is to wipe and then take the tissue and separate it and if the fluid on the tissue stretches, then it is fertile fluid. If you see it, go have intercourse and hopefully you’ll soon be feeling the early signs of pregnancy.

Safety Regarding Baby Equipment

Babies are very fragile, especially at the early months of its life after the mother has given birth to it. During this stage, parents, grandparents, and siblings are all over the child, protecting and watching over it. However, there will come a time when the child will eventually need to explore the world, at least the home first, on its own, and when this happens parents can't always watch over the precious bundle of joy like hawks. This is where childproofing comes in.

Childproofing is the process of making sure that the baby's equipment, as well as the environments where the baby plays around in, are made safe and secure. Most people take childproofing overboard, securing every single nook and cranny of the house, the car, and more. While there is nothing wrong with this per se, doing so will just result in high, mostly unnecessary costs.

By following just a few basic, but essential tips in doing a baby equipment safety check, parents can protect their child, and cut down costs like buying affordable baby clothes, without turning the home upside-down and inside-out.

First, focus on the areas that the baby is mostly in. These may include the crib, the baby high-chair, the car seat, the toy room, and the living room. Childproofing these areas is simple and easy. First, make sure there are no sharp edges and corners in these places. Cabinets and tables can be made safe by placing corner guards and bumpers. Cribs should have bars that are not big enough to fit any limbs in, risking the baby getting trapped. The baby seat should have a sturdy frame and wide base, and should have harnesses to secure the baby safely. This rule also applies to the car seat, and the strollers used.

Next, check the items often used by the baby, like the toys, feeding equipment, and clothes. Toys should not be too small, running the risk of being swallowed. Feeding equipment should be durable, and not shatter easily, and clothes should be made of safe fabrics and colored using non-toxic dyes.

These simple, basic tips should cover most, if not all the safety checks required to keep the baby safe, without breaking the bank!

Using Piggy Banks To Help Kids Learn To Save

Teaching Children How to Save

Parents try so hard to teach their children how to save money. One very efficient way to do so is to buy them a piggy bank. By doing so, you are giving your children an incentive to want to put their money away. While they are "loading" their piggy banks they tend to think of the things they can potentially buy and the endless possibilities of what they can do with the money they save. It gets them excited to put the dime, quarter, penny, nickel or even dollar they have into the little slot of their piggy bank.

Adult habits usually start to form in childhood, and when you buy your child a piggy bank you are starting a habit that could eventually help them become successful in the long run. One way to persuade them to save more is to take them to the store with you and have them choose their own bank. By doing so, they have more of a tendency to use it, which will help them earn more money.

After the kids have their banks, the next thing you would want to do is offer them opportunities to fill up their piggy banks. Giving them chores to do will teach them responsibility, which is a key to saving, and help them earn a little bit of money. The more you teach your children to respect the money they have, the more wisely they will spend it.

Once you help set the guidelines, they need to save money, the more interest they will have in doing so. The more interest they have in saving at a young age, the better they will be at it as they get older. So with that said, getting your children to use a piggy bank will better their responsibility as time goes on.

MOM’S CHOICE: CREMATION

During dinner last night,  our family discussed about a very sensitive topic: death.  We then talked about recent deaths in the family,  and in the midst of our conversation each of us were asked whether to go for the traditional burial, or for cremation.

Dad,  the head of the family, my husband, and myself, were all for the traditional burial, except for mom.   I was not expecting her, my mom, the most conservative one, the most fragile one,  to choose cremation but unexpectedly, she did.  So  the dinner went on with her giving us her reasons why she made that choice.

Mom’s most valid reason was that traditional burial costs a lot more than cremation.  True.  In fact,  it must at least be three times a lot more.   In cremation,  you will only have to pay for the cremation process and the urn, if you want to keep the ashes of your loved one.   With the traditional burial,   you need to be embalmed if your family needs to hold vigil,  you need to spend during the vigil or wake,  you have to pay for the coffin,  and finally,  you need to buy a memorial lot for the final resting place.  Indeed,  cremation a is far less costly option.

Mom is currently based abroad,  and she adds that if she dies abroad,  it will be more expensive to bring her remains to the Philippines as “cargo”.  Whereas,  if she gets cremated,  she may just have the urn mailed to her home country or allow any relative coming home to bring the ashes for the family to keep.

When asked about the cremation process,  she simply adds that it would no longer matter if her body should get through the “burning” procedure,  as the physical pain will no longer be felt by her.    What is important,  she said, was that she was able to share her presence with us during the years when she was yet alive.

Well,  I respect her views and whenever the time comes,   I will have to follow her wishes.  That,  if she passes away ahead of me.   In my mind, though,  I still would have wanted her to be buried traditionally and laid to rest somewhere where her grandchildren and great grandchildren could visit her.

Well, as the saying goes.  I’ll cross the bridge when I get there….we will decide on it then,  when the day finally comes.

The Importance Of Electronics Recycling To The Environment

In today’s time, there have been thousands and more electronics that can be seen anywhere in the world and throwing them would be just dangerous to the society. In order to prevent the harmful effects of these electronics equipment, electronics recycling is one good alternative in dealing with old machines. The earth is our place to live in and God gave it to us humans, so it is our rightful job to take care of it.

Before going on switching to new and better machines, it is vital that you consider first where you would put the old ones. The option of giving it away may not be the best one because there’s a chance that it will end up in the dump and causing harm without you knowing it. So why not selling it to someone who’s more into recycling electronics? In this way, it will add to its value and give more life to it.

In reality speaking, electronics can be really expensive so it is very easy to buy from manufacturers who sell second hand electronics for they come in a much lower rate. This is a perfect option for you if want to be practical and you want to save money. Electronics recycling becomes the only deserving choice for one who cannot afford to buy new machines. If you were to think back at how you’ve gotten to appointments on time throughout your life, I am willing to bet the simple answer is that an alarm clock has been responsible for your punctuality. Unfortunately, some people aren’t able to wake to a standard alarm device, making it impossible to get to their appointments on time. Fortunately, vibrating alarm clocks can help you out in a big way!

Steps on how to get unemployment benefits extension

When the time comes that employees will be dismissed or laid off, they have the right to gain unemployment benefits. The purpose of these benefits is to support all unemployed workers until the time comes that they will find a new job. These benefits are given by the state where they are currently residing and work in. In each state, there are different amount of benefits that are being given to the unemployed persons. The benefits that they will get will also depend on the period that the person worked full time and the compensation that they were receiving while at the time of work.

There’s a catch when applying for these benefits and that is if they were laid off, they can apply for the benefits provided that they can prove to all that they worked for even just a year and that they can find a new job. If it can be really hard to find a job on a certain state or the whole nation is currently on an economic slowdown, jobless people can always file an unemployment benefits extension.

So once unemployment has been filed by a person, they can now claim some benefits but only with a maximum period of 26 weeks. So basically, within that period, the person should already be looking for a job, but if they can’t find any then they will file an extension with regards to the benefits. Then you can check the extended benefits on your State’s regulation and this can be seen on local government websites and search there for eligibility requirements in your State. In order to get the unemployment benefits, the 26 weeks that was given to you should be completed and you should have already completed all the claims before filing for an extension on your regular benefits.

The purpose of these benefits is to protect and help the people who are jobless that are on their way looking for work. These benefits also give chances to all jobless people to have more benefits wherein it is really hard to find a job anywhere. Find unemployment benefits at Georgia unemployment offices.

Bullying Does Not End With Childhood

A lot of news in the past year has focused on the threat of bullies at school and on social media sites.  Most people feel this is a problem that only affects youth, but their assumption is wrong.  Residential communities comprised of senior aged citizens are experiencing their own problems with bullying as well.

Small Groups with Power

In high school it always seems that a small group of students wield an incredible amount of power or influence over the rest of the class.  It is the same with these residential facilities.  Documented cases have shown that a community with over 1,000 people is threatened by a small group of 10 or 12 people.  These people take over the social activities such as card games or luncheons and exclude anyone that does not belong to the “group.”  The “power” group will chat over tea or coffee about their planned activities and basically ignore the other residents.

Problems Catching People in the Act

In school it seemed that the teachers and administrators were always powerless to help the affected students.  Without any evidence, or actually witnessing the bullies in some act of intimidation, it seemed impossible to impose any kind of penalty.  With the older citizens the problems are the same.  Unless the proper officials actually see one person or a group threatening someone else, it is really a matter of one person's statement vs another.

More Problems with Viable Solutions

In high school parents are always telling the affected child to “just ignore the bully” and they will eventually go away.  Some people even recommend reaching out to form new friendships in order to avoid the feeling of exclusion.  However, this approach is not always possible in some senior citizen facilities.  Some of these living arrangements are small.  The only interaction the residents have is with the other people living in the building.  Ignoring everyone would not be an easy thing to do.

Online Alternatives

Although it does not completely solve the problem, there are some online alternatives to help people find new friends and make connections.  The boom in social sites is a great way to keep up to date with friends and family, whether they live in the same town or across the world.  Chat rooms exist on many of these sites that can give people a way to have a private conversation without letting everyone online see the details of the conversation.  Most social sites have different groups based around a common these so that anyone can find a group to their liking.

Marriage Counseling Advice for Troubled Relationships

One of the biggest misconceptions about marriage counseling is that it is a last ditch resort before divorce. Even if you feel that, your marital problems are minor, over time they can take a large toll on an otherwise ideal relationship. Almost every married couple comes to a point in which they wonder if their marriage will last. For some couples these feelings of doubt are fleeting, but more pressing marital issues are best addressed by a licensed professional. A marriage therapist is not to be thought of as a third wheel in a relationship. Instead, they should be thought of as an impartial voice of reason.

One major piece of marriage counseling advice is that for the relationship advice to work, both parties must both agree to attend as well as make a serious effort towards saving their marriage. A counselor will be able to advise you on what steps you need to take to resolve issues in addition to assigning helpful exercises to be done in between sessions. Relationship experts are trained not only to help couples work out disagreements, they are also able to get to the root of the problem much better than the average person. Marital counseling sessions can be intense or touching, cathartic or enraging, but the end result is usually a much stronger bond.

Marriage counseling does not necessarily solve all problems for all couples, but it certainly will not cause any harm. In a struggling relationship, it is imperative that all options have been tried and exhausted before a separation or divorce occurs. True marital problems cannot be saved by buying her an expensive tanzanite necklace or buying him tickets to a ballgame.  Marital problems build up over long periods of time, so they must be tackled over time. Be calm but determined, and go to multiple counselors if necessary before you get into working out the dynamics of your marriage. It may be hard to let your guard down at first, but if you are willing to be honest and compromising, going to marital counseling can absolutely turn a bad marriage around.

How to Properly Display and Protect Your Id Badge

Identification badges are a growing trend in business today due to increased security concerns.  Most organizations that issue id badges to their workers require the display of the badge at all times during the work day.  There are a few different badge accessories available that will allow for both display and protection of an id card.

Perhaps the most familiar of these accessories is the plastic badge holder.  There are a couple reasons for this popularity, but the main cause is the low cost of purchasing a soft plastic holder.  These holders are typically pinned or clipped to the clothing, but can also be attached to the end of a lanyard.  Soft holders provide some protection to the id badge, but not an abundant amount.  For better protection, a hard plastic holder should be chosen.  This type of holder will not bend or tear like a soft plastic version and can be displayed in the exact same ways.  Leather and metal holders are also available and they perform much like a hard plastic holder.

Another display option that is popular is the name badge lanyard.  This item is typically worn around the neck with the badge holder attached to the end of the lanyard via a clip.  The holder containing the id badge hangs in front of the chest or stomach areas depending on the length of the lanyard.  The lanyard is also a nice accessory to have if you need to keep your id card within arm’s reach at all times.  An id badge is much easier to access from a lanyard than from a badge holder clipped to the shirt.  If your id badge doubles as a security card, this can be a great time saving mechanism when encountering security swipe devices.

By choosing the correct badge holder and using a lanyard, you’ll find that displaying and protecting a badge is quite easy.  The other great thing about these accessories is that they can be purchased very reasonably.
