Carry-on

Always bring your valuables on carry-on. Placing your bag in check-in will greatly increase its chance of getting stolen, so keep your belongings with you if you can. To find out the limit for carry-on baggage, check with the airline you are flying with.

Avoid Heavy Belongings

Even if you have a premium brand like Gucci luggage or Jeep luggage, heavy items can put your suitcases in danger. In addition, it can result in serious injuries if it falls on someone’s head from the overhead compartment. For taking heavy belongings to other countries, try shipping them.

Contact Information

Always have contact information in your suitcase it case it gets lost or misdirected. However, you should be careful not to add your home address or anything else that would compromise your personal data. Instead, add a phone number and contact address of a mail box, friend, or relative.

Customization

Many suitcase brands look similar. If your brand is quite popular, there is a good chance that there are other travelers nearby that will have the exact same suitcase that you do. When this happens, it can be very difficult to identify your suitcase without some type of ribbon, tag, or other form of visible customization.

Lost Luggage

Even experienced travelers can lose their luggage. To prevent anything valuable from being lost, put your essential items in your carry. In addition to your valuables, pack one set of clothes and any important work items that you will need during your trip. All non-essentials can be placed in check-in.

Gold Panning is a Great Way to Spend Family Time Together

If you're looking for a fun activity that won't cost your family very much money, you really should consider gold panning.  More and more family's are learning how much fun gold panning can be every day.  This is an inexpensive activity that the whole family can enjoy.  There aren't many activities that you can take the whole family on and have a good time without spending a fortune.

You would probably agree that there aren't many family hobbies that you can get involved in that don't cost an arm and a leg.  The hobby of gold panning pleasantly surprises a lot of people because it's so inexpensive to get started in.  All you'll need to buy are a couple of shovels, a couple of plastic buckets, some gold pans, some plastic eyedroppers, and some plastic bottles for storing the gold that you might find.

It's always a good idea when starting a new hobby to get some instruction from people who are already experts at the hobby.  The best way to do this with gold panning is to join one of your local gold panning clubs.  These clubs are full of people who are more than happy to teach newcomers this fun and relaxing hobby.  They will also have several gold panning adventures that your family can be a part of.

It can be great fun being a member of a gold panning club.  Not only will you learn from some seasoned pros, you'll make some great friends along the way.  When it comes time to breaking off on your own and doing a little serious gold panning, you'll want to find your own secret hotspot.  The best way to find the hotspot is to look in an area where someone else has already found gold.  I'm not suggesting that you go panning for gold on someone else's claim.  What I'm suggesting is that you look in similar areas.  If you go to the website www.goldmapsonline.com and buy one of their gold maps, these maps will show the exact location of every registered gold mining claim in your area.  This will show you where other people have successfully found gold and then you can look in similar areas of the same river.

Whether you live in Alaska and your ready to get started in Alaska gold prospecting or you live in Idaho and your interesting in Idaho gold prospecting, gold panning is an activity your sure to fall in love with.

Living in Ohio’s Big Cities

Ohio always lives up to its reputation as a place where there is something for everyone. That is true and it has never been proven more correct as to the diversity that Ohio offers when it comes to options in living. There are many different places where one wants to live. For some it is the rural setting that appeals to them, for others it is the urban setting. There is no better amalgamation of a rural and urban setting than there is here in Ohio. There are huge cities resting quite comfortably amidst perfect rural settings.

The first city that we look at is Columbus. Named after the famous traveler, this city is the most important city in the state if one might say so. It is the capital of the state and is also home to the huge Ohio State University. This has given this place a unique identity of its own. It is extremely sophisticated and it has been made sure that it has everything a student or a person who is intellectually sound or needs to fulfill his intellectual craving gets what he needs. There are many different museums and coffee houses that make most out of the crowd. This is a place to be if you love your good old university days.

There is a place for the ones who are more nocturnal. The city by the lake, Cleveland is best for people who are more culturally and socially inclined. It has the best night clubs in the state. Once infamous due to its location, a lot has been done for its re-development and this has made it the place to be in Ohio.

Then the next major city here in the state is Cincinnati, the one city that introduces itself best as a cultural extravaganza in it. There are many different cultures that one gets a taste of here in the city. There are European and the exotic southern influences that make it an extremely special city to live in. Jerry Springer the famous TV show host was mayor of Cincinnati in 1977-1978. Though the city is now more famously know for its professional league football team the Cincinnati Bengals. The major league baseball team, the "Reds", also draw a large crowd to it's downtown home field. A beautiful aquarium as well as a world class zoo make this city a family favorite. Suburban areas around Cincinnati such as the Mason OH homes for sale are some of the most reasonably priced when the area is taken into consideration, grocery stores and amazing retail shopping as well as beautiful parks are all within a short distance of the city and it's bustling atmosphere.

Real estate here in Ohio is extremely reasonable; one can get a great house at a respectable price whether old or new. Though there has not been much appreciation in the real estate scene in the past few years here, Ohio is a place where you can set up roots and kick back for years to come. Cincinnati real estate has something for everyone of all ages, and is a place you can call home.

Retractable Motorhome Awnings

Any motorhome owner will tell you that an awning makes great sense. They offer a simple solution to the elements and keep you dry in the rain, whilst giving welcome shade from the sun. The main benefit is that they are very easy to erect and fold away. There are two main types, these being the manual and the retractable versions.

The retractable motorhome awnings are probably the easiest to use, and you can even purchase automatic versions that take a matter of minutes to erect. These are especially useful in windy conditions because they do not blow about whilst you are attempting to fold them out. The awning fits on the side of your camper van or caravan in a neat storage block that also gives good protection from rust and wear when not in use.

Manual retractable awnings can also be quickly erected by way of simply releasing the support straps and using an awning hook to unfold the canopy along the support tracks to it's final position. Both kinds are widely in use all over the world, and hundreds of campers enjoy their simplicity.

A Travel Guide to India

New Zealanders looking to have their honeymoon in India need to know a few things before they go:

Visas

You will need to get a visa, which allows you to stay for up to six months. Get your travel agent or airline to help with your application, which must be accompanied by a letter of itinerary and two photos. Visas cost is $90 and can take up to a month to be issued. The consulate is in Wellington so courier fees are also involved. Keep photocopies of your travel documents with you, or store them electronically so you can access them from the internet. There are a number of internet bureaus in Indian cities for emailing, but few elsewhere.

Weather

The best time to travel is between October and April, when the monsoon season is over and temperatures are lower. Between April and September it is very hot.
