A dress coat is a type of trench coat that flares out and looks like a dress.  It has become a lot more popular recently since women want to create a look when walking around outside.  In the past, some women avoided wearing any coats, even during the fall when it got a lot colder, because they wanted to show off the clothes they were wearing underneath.  When walking around, shopping and running errands, women would leave the coat in the car and choose to freeze rather than have a jacket on that covered their beautiful clothes.  With the dress coat, women no longer have to do that.

A dress trench looks gorgeous on.  It is slim on top and usually flares out around the waist.  When it flares out, it looks like a mini-skirt or a longer skirt and therefore creates the illusion that the woman is wearing a dress.  Sometimes, it can actually be worn as a dress without wearing anything underneath if the material is thin enough.  It comes in many different colors so women should choose a color that they want to show off in.  Many women have chosen a red dress trench for just that reason.  This allows them to be noticed while also keeping them warm.  Other women choose the more traditional blue or black dress coats so they can still look stylish but look conservative as well.  Whatever you choose to buy, just remember to make sure your dress coat fits well.
