If you happen to live in a major metropolitan area, you may have to pay as high as $0.70 a square foot for a basic cleaning. On the other hand, you may live in a rural area that has a lower per capita income. Prices in these areas may be as low as $0.17 a square foot.
Why do prices vary so much from area to area? The answer is simple, overhead. Cleaners price their service according to how much their expenses are. If you are lucky enough to have your carpets cleaned by someone that is an owner operator, has all of his equipment paid for, and his wife works and makes great money, then you may be able to get a great deal on carpet cleaning.
