To bring you back on the basics of acne, you need to understand its main cause. People claim that the dirt on the environment is the reason for all the lesions while some others believe that it is caused by hormonal problems. Both of these claims are true and in fact, acne happens due to combination of these two reasons. A person who does not wash his or her face regularly will have problems with acne because of pore congestion. When all of the dirt gets accumulated along with the oils on the skin, it creates an accumulated plug that will block the outflow of the lubricating fluid. This causes the characteristic pimple that you can usually see and they are very hard to remove.

Asides from pimples, blackheads can also be formed in acne by the same type of method. Those who want to know about how to remove blackheads or pimples should focus on the main problem for their treatment. First of all, proper hygiene must be practiced and it should be mixed together with the application of well known remedies. If you use the anti inflammatory ingredients of plants and the antioxidants of fruits, you will be able to achieve great results on your skin.

There can be a lot of danger involved in using these remedies with sensitive skin. To keep you safe from these, you should look for a good dermatologist to ask advice from. This type of doctor will give you the right advice that you need and he or she will help you through the proper use of these remedies.

5 Ways to Ruin Your Skin

Despite all your efforts in following all the skin care tips and skin care routines, why do you still feel you are aging rapidly? Well perhaps you are committing one or all of these major crimes to your skin.

* Too much exfoliation

Those who have dry skin tend to believe that exfoliating aids in getting rid of the dead skin cells on their skin. True, but overdoing it will do nothing but impair the skin's natural ability to absorb water, hence causing it to look dull and old.

* Using the same old moisturizer

You should know that what your skin needs during the summer season is not what it needs in winter. Keep in mind that the water level in the air determines the level of oiliness and dryness of your skin. Use skin moisturizers that are intended for the particular weather.

* Cleansing with a harsh skincare product

Foaming cleansers as well as soaps make your skin feel tighter, but this is only because they wash away the natural lipids in your skin, resulting in the faster development of wrinkles on your face. Use gentler cleansers or those products that are oil based.

* Going exclusively organic

While organic skincare products are advisable, it should be limited to cleansers and moisturizers. Organic sunscreen products can never be better than those with some chemical formula. There also doesn't seem to be any organic alternative to retinoid for wrinkle removal. Whether it is organic or not, what matters most is that the skincare product has the correct type and right amount of ingredients.

* Combining various ingredients

As some skin care products are not made to be the all in one product, you are likely to buy individual skin care products and use them all at once. Make sure that when you do this, you follow a certain formulation in order to achieve balanced application.

Treating Acne at Home

A mild case of acne can be treated right at home using natural based remedies and behavioral changes. If you are suffering from acne on any part of the body, you need not resort to chemical and medicinal remedies the first instance you see a pimple because acne is more of a condition than a disease and their appearance shows that there is a bigger underlying issue you need to deal with. This article will spotlight on a few effective acne treatment techniques you need to consider to overcome the condition safely, affordably and effectively.

The first step you need to take is to refrain from picking, squeezing and popping the pimples, especially on the face. Popping these pimples will just cause them to spread; your fingers will make them come up on other areas of the skin. The scarring that comes after the squeezing is also not the best sight, you rather let the pimples stay on. Whenever you clean your face, do a thorough washing but do not scrub the face with something that will puncture the pimples. Instead go for a soft cloth that you can use to unclog the plugged ducts, twice a day. The best acne home treatment revolve around how you take care of the body rather than how you hide the symptoms of acne.

It is important to identify why you are suffering from acne in the first place if you need to overcome it effectively. When you know why you have the pimples, you can change the way you live life to exclude the causes of acne and lower the severity of the condition as you deal with the already existing pimples and other symptoms. The most common causes of acne include hormonal changes, skin exposure to chemicals and environmental factors, stress, poor diet, drugs and illnesses. When you know which of these or other factors cause acne, you will be in a better position to deal with the condition.

There are also a number of homemade acne treatments that use natural based products like aloe vera, oat meal and other natural plant and animal products. Toothpaste is also a great remedy you can apply on a pimple to deal with acne. The actual treatment of acne lies in dealing with the root of the condition rather than using creams and lotions that will hide the symptoms for a few days and they will come back worse than before.

Learn How To Get Rid of a Pimple Fast

Pimples are not only the plague of adolescents; they can continue to be a problem well into adult life.  Maintaining a healthy diet, drinking plenty of water and following a proper, consistent hygiene schedule, will aid in keeping breakouts to a minimum.  When prevention fails, and you notice another bump emerging, learn how to get rid of a pimple fast by staying ahead of it and following this at home method.

When you start to feel, or see a blemish forming, wash your face immediately with a gentle cleansing soap. It is extremely important to rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue that can further clog the pores.  A good rule of thumb is to run warm water over your face until you think all traces of soap are gone, then rinse some more to be thorough.  Lastly, turn the tap on cold and finish by splashing the face with cold water.  This will close up those clean pores nicely.

Use a lotion or gel containing salicylic acid over the entire face, avoiding the eye area.  Allow this to dry for one minute. At the spot where you see of feel that new pimple emerging, dab on some benzyl peroxide cream.  Both of these products are available over the counter and in varying potencies.  Try to find the highest potency that you can tolerate without over drying the skin.  When you can, over the course of the day or evening, use a cotton swab to dab the offending pimple every 15 minutes or so with alcohol or astringent.  Be careful not to involve the surrounding skin, just focus on the blemish, and discontinue if you notice excessive drying.

Wash the face as noted above once again at bedtime.  This should be your regular routine, twice a day, once in the morning and again at bedtime. On days when you are excessively oily, do an additional wash routine mid-day to become acne free.

Oil Control Equals Acne Control

You may be wondering how controlling oil on our skin help to control acne. To help answer this question we will explore what causes acne and how oil contributes to that. Then we will look at ways to control the oil on our skin so that we can learn to control the breakouts.

Acne is a skin condition that is caused by the clogging of the pores. The body itself contributes to most of those clogged pores as well as our own negligence with daily hygiene. Dead skin cells stick to the face and in the pores by the sebum, or oil, that is created in the sebaceous glands. This mixture acts as a plug inside the pore. Once a pore is plugged then bacteria can start to grow and now we have the right ingredients for a pimple.

When the body over produces the sebum then it is only a matter of time before this vicious cycle begins and breakouts start appearing. To help keep our pores clear we need to keep the excess oil away.  Now we can see that controlling the oil on our skin can help to control the appearance of acne.

The best way to accomplish this is to eat a healthier diet. Consuming more fruits and vegetables and less greasy or fried foods is a start. This will help the body to regulate its oil production. In the meantime it is important to wash the face twice a day. Wash with a gentle oil removing cleanser using your hands, not a wash cloth. Abrasive cleansers and scrubs, and wash cloths can kick start the oil production glands. That is the last thing we want to do. After washing it is recommended to use an astringent to help close the openings to the pores. This will keep the dead skin cells out along with any other debris the face collects.

Some one that has oily skin will have a tendency for acne breakouts. Following these simple steps daily is the key to reducing the oil production and to help keep the pores clean and clear of dead skin cells.

There Is No Need For Your Acne To Go Untreated

Acne affects nearly everyone to some degree at some point in their life.  Most commonly, acne affects people in their adolescent years.  Nearly 90% of all teens experience acne at some level.

Acne can range in severity from occasional blackheads to out-of-control pustules virtually covering the entire face.  As the body goes through hormonal changes, such as puberty, the bacteria that causes acne can be difficult to control.

There are many topical anti-bacterial products on the market.  These products, that usually contain benzoyl peroxide, are effective for acne that is not too severe.  Also effective are topical antibiotics, which can target the bacteria with fewer side effects than an antibiotic taken orally.

In more severe cases, oral antibiotics requiring a prescription may be necessary to control acne that has affected a large portion of the body.  If that proves ineffective, costlier and more extensive procedures such as laser acne treatment may be needed.  The good news is that there are so many remedies available today for acne that there is no need for it to go untreated.

Do You Pop Your Zits?

If you pop zits on your face or anywhere on your body you're running the risk of more acne and creating more damage than you think.  Popping zits is dangerous business.  Your face is a magnet for infections, especially staph infection, which will give you more grief and cause way more pain than any pimple will.  The problem that many have is that they pop a zit and then go on about their business.  The most important thing is that you wash your face and hands before starting, sterilize and tools you're going to use, and clean the popped pimple with hydrogen peroxide or similar cleanser.  Adding these extra steps is certainly going to take more time, but you will greatly reduce the risks associated with an open wound on your face.
