Badminton Racket Strings
The strings play a very important role in how a racket behaves. The key factor is the tension. Low tension generally yields more power because the strings will flex more impact with the shuttle and produce a kind of slingshot effect. This sends the shuttle off the string bed faster, but at the expense of control. High tension produces less power because the strings will not flex on impact, so it is down to the player to swing the racket fast enough to get the power.
The kind of player you are should determine the type of badminton racket strings you choose. Power players can add to their power with loose string tension, control and defensive players can add to their game with tighter strings. Bear in mind that tight strings will break more easily and can even crack the frame.
