When Research in Motion (RIM) launched the Blackberry App World, they desperately tried to reach out and the match what Apple has been doing with it's Applications library on iTunes. Whether you like what RIM has done or not, it's a huge improvement over the previous methods for finding Blackberry Pearl apps.

In the months and years leading up having the App World, you would have to scour the internet to try to find the application you needed. Once you found what you wanted, there was no guarantee it was virus free or whether it would even work on your phone.
