Make a Great Impression with a Black Rug

If you need something special to finish off your floor you might be considering buying a black rug. Black is a strong color which does not look good with every color scheme but when it is the right color choice and the right rug, it can make your floor look absolutely stunning. Here are some ways to use a black rug to make a good impression.

1. In a Black and White Room

A typical contemporary monochromatic color scheme looks fantastic with a black rug, either in plain black or in black and white. Of course, you should have a little contrast color in your room so that it is not totally monochromatic such as a hot pink cushion or two or a large shiny leaved green plant, but if you have that already, feel free to keep your rug in the main color theme. There are some excellent black and white geometric and swirly designs available or even a zebra print which would look stunning at the center of your floor.

2. In a White Bathroom

Black bathroom rugs have become very popular in recent years along with our love of white bathrooms and neutral flooring such as slate or white ceramic tiles. Black adds a great contrast color and can be easily continued with a mixture of black and white towels and even black and white edging to your wall tiles.

3. In an Entrance Hall

If you have a more traditional hall, you might consider a Persian rug in the form of a runner with a black background. The pattern and color are great for hiding dirt yet they look fantastic and welcoming to visitors.

4. In a Loft Apartment Living Space

Loft apartments need something large and special and what would look exceptionally good here would be a round black shag rug made of leather. These rugs are made of tiny thin leather strips knotted onto a canvas backing and they ooze texture and luxury from every strand.

Wedding Colors: Is White right for You?

Snow White was a popular Disney character that represented purity and innocence and it’s no mistake that White was in her name. White is known as a the color of innocence and purity. It makes the perfect color for a summer wedding due to its light and neutral qualities.

When considering White as a color for your wedding there a few things you need to keep in mind. First, don’t worry about what other colors fit because white goes with them all. Next, white reflects light, so don’t go overboard especially out doors if you plan on having the wedding out in the sunlight. You don’t want to blind the groom. And finally, keep in mind that white is the easiest color to show dirt, so if you are planning on using it as a main color, its probably a good idea to have the wedding indoors.

A good color scheme to use is White to accent both light and dark shades of Blue. White will bring purity and innocence to the loyalty of Royal Blue and be topped with the peaceful tranquility of Light Blue.
