Dog Allergies & The Border Collie

Antihistamine for Dogs may be needed today, said John. But the Border Collie is often considered one of the most brightest breeds of dog. Some believe that herding dogs originate in England and Scotland. Of all herding dogs, the Border Collie is reliable and always eager to work. They enjoy pleasing their master and are unusually well-suited to living on farms with someone devoted to working with them. Affectionate and faithful, the Border Collie is not appropriate for households with little children. They need a full-time handler and open fields. But Carl was not interested, when he asked Jenny about the dog. She wanted a cat with white fur, much like the doctor’s cat. I do hope you are able to find what you are looking for before the rains come. After all, it is best for the cat to live in an area that they like.

Dog Tricks

Paul O’Grady, the British comedian and television presenter, is renowned for his love of dogs and regularly features them on his daily programme. One super dog that brought the house down was a cute little female Jack Russell who could dance, do acrobatic tricks and walk all over his master… literally. The little dog was obviously in prime condition and what we were about to see could never have been achieved by a fat dog.

Yvo Antoni and PrimaDonna made their TV debut in October 2009 and fans of Paul O’Grady’s programme went wild about the pair. They watched Yvo get into all sorts of crazy positions in order for PrimaDonna to do her tricks. While Yvo lay down and raised his feet in the air his little dog stood on one of his upturned feet, then on the other, then she stood up on her back legs, balancing on the soles of Yvo’s shoes.

When dog and master took a bow together, the audience went wild and wanted more. The duo did an encore, with a further song and dance act.

‘How do you get your dog to do all this?’ asked Paul.

‘With lots of treats,’ responded Yvo.

‘And how long has it taken you to train her?’

‘Two and a half years,’ came the response.

‘D’you think you could get her to do the same for me?’ Paul was clearly very excited at the prospect.

And sure enough, after the briefest of tutoring, the little star weaved herself through the presenter’s legs, then jumped up on his back and repeated a couple of the tricks she had just performed with her master. Everyone who watched the performance was amazed.

‘Fantastic… wonderful,’ enthused Paul. ‘What a glorious little dog.’

Training Havense Dogs

With so many people living highly stressed out and just plain busy lives these days, more and more psychologists, psychiatrists, and other mental health professionals, are finding more and more patients suffering from anxiety and other stress related syndromes and conditions. However, these same doctors are struggling themselves with traditional methods of treatment as the host of medication being offered to treat these conditions along with conservative forms of therapy are proving ineffective. One popular form of alternative therapy that has caught on recently has been “prescriptions” to engage in relaxing and down to earth activities. Some doctors have asked patients to start a garden or get into puppy rearing and I know of one man whose doctor recommended he try his hand at training havanese dogs! While the jury is still out as to the effectiveness of these new and interesting techniques, professionals seem committed to giving them a fair shot and many people have report tentative results pointing in the direction of the positive. While it will be a while before these new methods are declared a success there’s no doubt that they are worth a try.

Electric Dog Nail Grinders

People have always been fascinated with technology, and especially when that technology is made into a labor saving device. The pet supply industry is no different, and many electric versions of old pet care products are hitting the market. From electric, self cleaning litter boxes to automatic doggy doors, there’s no limit to the pet related, techno marvels available for purchase. One of the most popular remakes of an old pet care product is the dog nail grinder.

A Specialty type of dog nail clipper, dog nail grinders are actually a modified version of the dremel tool. Instead of “clipping” the dog’s nails, the electric nail grinder does just what it’s name suggests, grinds away the nail bit by bit. Many pet owners prefer the nail grinder as it has proven safer than standard clippers.

Dog Kennels

Let’s admit it, life in a kennel doesn’t seem that exciting. This picture on the left clearly illustrates how I would feel if I had to spend my life behind bars. My name is Nate and I’m the owner of the Dog Kennels Guide (a great blog about everything you would want to know about your Dog’s living arrangments).

Although this dog on the left doesn’t look that happy, the truth is that a lot of dogs are happy to head to the kennel, but you’ll need to make sure that a few things are in place first.

The Kennel Must be Large Enough, but Not Too Large

Many people get worried that there dog isn’t going to like being placed in a small area, so they buy a dog kennel that is too big. Dog’s actually don’t like it if their kennel is too large (it just isn’t cozy for them that way). The kennel size should be large enough so the dog can do a complete 360 within it, but not much larger than that.

Make Sure Your Dog Has Exercised

Sure, your dog isn’t going to be happy in a cage if he or she hasn’t exercised all day. However if you have taken your dog on a walk or run, you might find that she is excited to hop back in the cage for a little rest when it is time.

Clean The Kennel

I’m not saying that you should clean dog kennels more often than you clean your own bedroom, but every month or two you should probably clean out your dog’s little home.

Hope you have enjoyed these tips for a happy, kenneled dog.

Beagle Training

Dogs are a very important part of the human experience. Unlike cats, who feel entitled, dogs are social and need humans. The reason they need us is because we have domesticated them for hundreds, if not thousands of years. We domesticated them because we needed them to protect us from those who wanted to hurt us.

Throughout the years, people have done different things with their dogs. Some breed their dogs like people breed horses and others enjoy them as family pets. My dog in America is a mutt named Beavis. He is a great guard dog and loves to curl into a ball in the corner of the living room so he can watch the entire house. He didn’t always do this though, because we had to train him.

Our dog trainer specialized in Beagle training, but decided to help us anyways. We learned about animal psychology and how to properly control the dog. He said our dog was a challenge as he was not purebred, and he preferred dogs like Beagles. He said Beagle training is easy because they are very small, weak dogs. Well, I told him I’d never take such a weak dog over my Beavis!
