Cutting Costs in the Small Office

If you are a small business owner you know what it is like to always be fighting to lower costs. Every time you turn around there are new costs and new services that all seem to have their obligatory monthly fees. And with all of the marketing to small business owners of programs and tools and gadgets that will help you save money it is difficult to wade through all of it and make the right decisions. My solutions is to stick to the tried and true tools of doings business. I have several good PC computers, and I am a big believer in cordless 2 line phones so that you can multitask the phone related items in your office. Now, I know there are others that will claim that the latest advances in gadgets will save me nd my people tons of time and money, but this is the way I do things.

Panasonic Dual Line Cordless Phone Works Well

I purchased this new Panasonic cordless phone to replace one of the older analog cordless phones that was probably about 10 years old. This phone is for our home, and although I am not a big user of the phone, my family is so far happy with the quality and features.

The good things we like about the Panasonic:

Excellent speaker phone. This was one of the features we really wanted in a new phone and we looked at many two line cordless phone reviews. This feature work nearly perfect even though it is not a full duplex phone. You can use either the speaker phone on the base unit or the one in the handset, and both work great. Both speakerphones have a good volume adjustment on them and switching from the handset earpiece to the speaker phone feature is a one button maneuver.

The sound quality is great. In fact I don’t think that I could tell that this was a cordless phone by the sound quality. It is that good. There is no static whatsoever within the full range of our house. I have not taken the handset down the street to see how far it will go, but the fact that it works so flawlessly anywhere inside the house in enough for me.

Easy to use answering machine. For a technically challenged person like myself this is a huge plus. The fact that I figured out how to program the outgoing message, listen to recorded messages and delete old messages all without reading the included manual tell you something. It is easy to use.

The one downside is that the battery life of this 2-lined cordless phone is not nearly what the battery life on our old phone was. The new phone handset will last about an hour of talking time and about 8 hours on standby before it needs to be recharged. Normally, this phone sits in the cradle base unit so that is not a problem, but there are times when somebody is on the phone for more than an hour. I will have to look into whether I can get a longer lasting battery or if maybe this battery is somehow defective. Other than that we are quite satisfied with our new two line cordless telephone.
