There is a glass table in every room I’ve peeked into. I consider this unusual, very high class for such an establishment. I’ve seen some of the residents—I don’t know them—having tea in the afternoon. The young maid brings it.  I know because I’ve seen her on the stairs carrying a tray.  Then she sets it on the glass table while she serves.

These fellow roomers don’t look too classy to me,certainly not classy enough to have tea in their rooms.

As I peek through open doors into the rooms, I see some that are prettier than others.  There is a lavender room with large windows opening onto a tropical garden.

There is one on the second floor, right at the landing, with big pink roses on the wallpaper. Certainly no man would want to have a room like this. But, of course, one doesn’t have a choice in a low-class place.

I wandered deeper and deeper into the forest. I was lost and I knew it. This was unfamiliar territory and I was beginning to wonder why I decided to come up here to this strange area. When I was driving up here, I could see in the distance a beautiful dense forested area. The last time I’d been in the woods was when I was a girl scout, and then I was with a bunch of people. Well, I wasn’t going to panic.
