New Zealanders looking to have their honeymoon in India need to know a few things before they go:

Visas

You will need to get a visa, which allows you to stay for up to six months. Get your travel agent or airline to help with your application, which must be accompanied by a letter of itinerary and two photos. Visas cost is $90 and can take up to a month to be issued. The consulate is in Wellington so courier fees are also involved. Keep photocopies of your travel documents with you, or store them electronically so you can access them from the internet. There are a number of internet bureaus in Indian cities for emailing, but few elsewhere.

Weather

The best time to travel is between October and April, when the monsoon season is over and temperatures are lower. Between April and September it is very hot.
