Cricut expression machine and Cricut cartridges

Since Cricut cartridges appeared, scrapbooking is getting more and more popular in many homes, as a relaxing and pleasant activity for the entire family. It can be used to conserve the family history with journal entries, photographs and memorabilia. Just put together a Cricut Expression machine and some Cricut cartridges and they will make old pictures, filled with history to come alive for the generations to come.
Ever since photography was invented, people struggled to come up with better ideas of how to store their photos for safekeeping in the most innovative ways. The paper became available and affordable for ordinary people in the 15th century, and since then, many have started to create scrapbooks, or commonplace books that were used to save correspondence, poetry, quotes and recipes. Similar to the current customs, every scrapbook theme was uniquely created by its author. Later, in the 16th century, friendship albums were in vogue, and they were used similarly to our yearbooks, where friends and colleagues sign each others albums at the end of the school.
Inspired by the history, Provo Craft put their imagination and creativity to work and figured out some effective ways to ease the crafts creating process. Cricut Jukebox comes very handy for scrapbookers who want to easily keep all their cartridges in one place. With this amazing tool, they do not have to stop their creative flow every time they need to switch out the Cricut cartridges.
There are all kinds of cartridges available, from Hannah Montana and Old West themed to Christmas Solutions Cartridge or Disney Mickey Font Cartridge. Just take a look at the wide variety of wonderful cartridge designs and you will understand what Provo Craft meant in their slogan by endless possibilities. If you download and install the Design Studio software, you will be able to view all the cartridge images in their collection, which by the way, contains over one hundred cartridges you can choose from.

Make Your Own Scrapbooking Embellishments

Making your own scrapbooking embellishments is a wonderful way to make unique page layouts. So many common items around your house can be used as embellishments. Ideas include bits of string, thread and yarn, pictures cut from old magazines, handmade knitted or crocheted items, paper flowers or other paper designs, etc. You can also purchase raw ingredients to manufacture your own embellishments.  Polymer clay can be used to make almost any item and can easily be painted to any color. Acrylic's can be manufactured in molds to hold any type of little item that you would like to show off.

Setting up a Scrapbooking Room

Your scrapbooking room can be a very special place.  Setting it up properly can make all the difference in the world when you are scrapping.  Here are a few ideas to help you plan your new room.
Storage:  In order to keep your room from becoming a disorganized mess, you will need proper storage for your supplies.  Plan for lots of storage.  Paper drawers, ribbon rollers, embellishment hubbies are all essential items and should be incorporated into your scrapbook room.
Work Space:  You need a BIG work space.  There is nothing worse than trying to visualize a new layout without having all your pieces in front of you to mix and match.  You might even plan to have two large flat work spaces so that you can leave a layout to dry while working on another one.
Light:  You must have good lighting and lots of it.  The best is natural light either from windows or skylights, but if you don't have that available, you should consider full spectrum lighting.  You might also provide spotlights to light up your work area.  Nothing is worse than doing a full layout, bringing it out into natural light a finding that the colours do not match the way you planned.
Set up your scrapbooking room correctly at the beginning and it will provide you with an enjoyable space for many years to come.
