Are There Tests Available For Perimenopause?
If you think you might be entering menopause or have questions, you can consult with your doctor about the tests performed for answers to menopause. The first tests your doctor might conduct are to see if you're pregnant or have a thyroid disease, which could also explain your symptoms.
A blood test will be conducted by your doctor, if your other tests prove negative, to determine your estrogen levels which, if declining, are a sure indicator that you are entering menopause. A follicle stimulating hormone, or FSH, causes estrogen production in the ovaries, so your doctor might perform a test to look for that. They look for FSH because your estrogen level is decreasing if there is an increase in FSH production. Don't hesitate to call your doctor today and get the answers you want through either one of these tests. Please visit my site for more information about perimenopause: Signs of Menopause Guide
