Getting Loans for Your Small Business

Loans for small business are a necessity to keep your business running smoothly. Before going straight to your current bank to apply for a new business loan, take a look at the other banks in your area. If you have been with your current bank for a long time they may try to offer you a higher rate, betting that you won’t go to the trouble of shopping around.

Credit unions are a great place to look for loans. They are owned by the depositors, so it is in the best interest of the managers to keep the customers happy. Another place to look for great rates for small business loans are the internet only banks. These banks do not have the added costs of bank branches that traditional banks have. Many of these banks pass the savings on to the customer

There are some good resources available through the small business association that will help you lay out a quality business plan to help you get started.  Lack of proper planning is usually the downfall of every little company that fails in its first few years.  Once you have a firm organized approach you must then take that and apply it to your business.  Many of these types of businesses can be run right from your home, in a small office, the garage or a spare room.  Keeping your business area separate from the rest of the house will help you to maintain a professional approach to the business.  You will also want to keep your  bank account and book keeping separate from your personal finances to make year end tax filing much easier.  Dont just jump into a venture without fully thinking it out utilize your local SBA to get the necessary information to get started properly and hopefully you will have a well established home business.

In this brief article I just wanted to take a little time to stress just how important good posture is for improving the customer service skills of your small business. If your associates are constantly slouching around the work place, looking down at the floor or reading a magazine while handling customers, or just looking all together not enthusiastic about working their job, it's time for some serious improvements to be made.

In this business perception is everything. As long as you can make it so that the customer perceives your employees to be upbeat and happy professionals you will see a drastic improvement in your customer satisfaction scores. One of the simplest and often over looked techniques to being percieved as important and helpful is maintaining proper posture.

Keep your spine straight, your chin up, and your hands behind your back with your chest out a bit, and you will soon see just how much a simple habit can help.

No Ringtone? No Problem!

One of the basic things for a small business it a ringtone, you don't even think about it until one day you pick up your handset and realize your telephone system is down.  The lifeblood of your company is gone, clients can't call and you can't get paid.  The importance of the telephone system is now front and center.

Consider getting a virtual auto attendant, that way if your system goes down your company can either get by with cell phones or at the very least have a way for clients to leave messages.  You can also have your land line number forwarded to your cell phone so clients are not even aware you are experiencing difficulties.

Prior to experiencing down time have a service agreement in place with a local provider so you can be up and running again quickly.
