Keep Your Snowboard Moving

One of the basic rules of snowboarding is to keep the board moving. Whenever the board ceases to move you will become unstable and this is because both of your feet are anchored to the same plane of balance.

As humans we are used to using both legs independently of each other to find out balance when we are unstable. When you’re standing still on a snowboard you have not got that option to stabilize yourself. You’ve got two options in that case, you can either try to start moving again and hope the momentum will keep you upright, or you sit down.

It doesn’t matter whether you want to be a freestyle snowboarder or an alpine snowboarder speeding down the groomed runs, you are going to be unstable when you stop. It’s natural. So keep it sliding at all times to keep your balance.
