When it comes time to selecting an ultralight fishing rod, you need to consider a couple of things, because not all manufacturers are putting the same amount of research and development into their rods. Some manufacturers even put out low quality products just to make a dollar, because they know that people are going to be wanting to save their money on the purchase of a rod and reel, or even finding a combo that costs less than $20. This is a serious mistake, because the rod is either going to snap, or the reel will give out on the with the first fish that you catch. Once you start putting serious pressure on the fish, you will understand that the drag is made of plastic, and the reel is going to soon crap out.
