There is not one right way to clean any gutter.  How you clean may depend a lot on how much debris you have in you gutter as well as how long you have to spend.  Other then just scooping out the gunk and putting it into buckets, there are 3 other methods you can use to clean out gutters witch may help you speed up the process.

The Wet Dry Vac method.  This works great for dry and wet gutter with small to medium amount of debris in them.  The down side is it can be heavy and fills up fast.

Using a blower to blow out the gutter is a lot of fun.  It works best on dry gutters.  With wet gutter, you will most likely make mess and then have to clean it up latter.

Another method is using a gutter rake.  It adds to your reach when you are up on a ladder and cut your cleaning time by up to 50%  For more on rain gutter cleaning
