Teens Need To Keep Busy This Summer
If you have a teenager in the house, then you probably understand the significance of keeping them occupied as much as possible. A summer time job is a great way to make sure your teenager stays busy and it lets them learn about the real world as well as providing some much needed spending money. If your teen is out looking for work this summer, here is a list of some typical jobs for 15 year olds and teens through the summer time months:
Babysitting - Taking care of someone else's children is a big and important responsibility. Only the most mature and accountable teenagers should attempt this. Sometimes, moms and dads look for teenagers who have experience babysitting and have had some training to make them ready. The Red Cross gives courses in babysitting, safety, first aid, and even CPR for your teenager. Your teen can educate themselves on the care of infants and kids so they're prepared for their first job. Of all the jobs for 15 year olds, this is probably the most popular one.
Pet Sitting - If your teen loves animals, caring for a pet might be something they would be good at and enjoy. This is normally not an all day gig as dogs need to be walked in the mornings and maybe again later in the day. This allows lots of time in between to do other things including going to school during the school year so it can be a year round job.
Landscaping and Lawn Care - There are many small yard and garden businesses that need additional help through the long and hot days of summer. Your teen can try to get a job with one of these companies or try to start their own neighborhood business. Mowing and gardening have always been two things that kids have done thoughout the years to earn extra money.
Food Service -- Fast food joints can be a terrific place for a first job and that is where many teens start out. Older kids can often be seen taking money at the register, manning the drive through window, or flipping burgers at the local MacDonalds. The summer months are a very good time for young adults to expertise the long workdays and fatigue that accompany this kind of work.
Retail - Jobs in retail shops are often in high demand and they're great jobs older teenagers . Young adults like to work in malls because it is a place where all their friends go. Because of the attractiveness of this job to many people apart from the typical teenager, it's often difficult to find employment with them. Often these shops will only permit someone over the age of 16 to work there.
